About ARDEX

For more than 70 years, ARDEX has been the quality leader for an entire industry, offering excellent specialty building materials with supreme processing reliability—the brand of choice for installers and wholesalers.

ARDEX today is still an independent family-owned business. This means that in permanent efforts to achieve market-shaping innovations, ARDEX has been able to retain its most important tradition: uncompromising quality. This is something ARDEX guarantees by applying the latest rigidly enforced quality assurance procedures.

It’s no coincidence that ARDEX is regarded as the premium partner in the specialty building materials sector.

“Cloud Inventory provided a software solution that interacted with SAP in real-time, meaning our warehouse workers could perform their tasks from anywhere in the facility.”
Chris Sage | Customer Service Coordinator at ARDEX

The Challenge

Employees were losing valuable time searching the warehouse for products. Piles of paperwork were getting lost in the shuffle, resulting in missed jobs. Inefficient warehouse operations—including manual, paper-based picking and booking processes—were disrupting business in ARDEX New Zealand’s warehouses. Part of the global ARDEX group, ARDEX New Zealand needed a solution that could automate warehouse processes and streamline operations while integrating into their SAP installation.

The Solution

Having used Cloud Inventory to achieve real-time inventory visibility at other locations, ARDEX chose to expand its use of Cloud Inventory solutions to enable warehouse automation in its New Zealand facilities.

The company deployed Cloud Inventory with prebuilt, certified integrations to SAP. By replacing paper-based processes with quick scans from handheld devices directly into SAP, workers no longer had to walk to a terminal to transact goods.

In addition to eliminating paperwork from warehouse processes, the solution also streamlined tasks by putting information in the hands of workers. For example, the handheld solution directs users to exact picking locations, saving workers valuable time.

To ensure the fastest and simplest deployment and a seamless implementation, ARDEX New Zealand leveraged Cloud Inventory’s out-of-the-box Inventory Management Solution and certified, validated integrations to SAP’s standard BAPIs.

“The implementation went smoothly,” Sage said. “The Inventory engineer that was on site for the commissioning and training of our team was excellent and went above and beyond to ensure that our system was operational.”

The Results

Thanks to Cloud Inventory, ARDEX New Zealand is now equipped to manage its warehouses more efficiently. Since updating its warehouse processes, ARDEX New Zealand has also seen a reduction in missed jobs and a 10% increase its delivery in full on time (DIFOT) rate, both of which have led to improved customer satisfaction.
